Background Summary:
Eighteen years retail management which included responsibility of
directing several multi-million dollar per year budgets
simultaneously. Twenty-four years of both marketing and
merchandising experience. Responsibilities included buying
merchandise, hiring and firing of both salaried and hourly paid
employees, training new employees, and development of training
programs consistent with company needs. Also,
implementation and accounting for budgets, property
acquisition, corporate expansion, and loss prevention.

Hired personally by Mr. Sam Walton, my first
responsibility was as store manager in a Ben Franklin Store owned
by Walton in Rolla, MO. Came up through the ranks as a
buyer, store planning and set-up supervisor, buyer of automotive,
sporting goods, and infants apparel, Wal-Mart Store Manager, and
District Manager. Responsibilities included, but were not
limited to: merchandising, real estate acquisition, store
planning, all management functions, advertising and sales
promotions, inventory control, and loss prevention. Last
position held as District Manager in Little Rock, a total
of 13 stores and 1700 employees under my direction, with a sales
volume of over $180 million per year.

Accomplishments: Governor's Task Force
for Northern Mississippi for Economic Recovery (1975-76), Rogers
County Election Board (1983-1995), President, Chelsea Chamber of
Commerce, (1984), Have authored and published 15 papers dedicated
to the small and independent inventor, plus spoken to numerous
inventoršs groups and lectured at the University and
Post-Graduate level on the economics of change, technology
transfer. Two-time Speaker at the Yankee Invention
Exposition, Waterbury, CT. Featured VIP speaker at the
Invention Convention, Pasadena, CA, 1997. Currently serve
as Assistant Sysop of the Ideas to Invention Forum for Compuserve
International. Also voted DECA Employer of the Year for the
State of Georgia, 1974. Also speaks at NIW Seminars (ERIP),
to inventor groups upon request, and to colleges and universitys,
returning honorariums to scholarship funds.
Hobbies and Interests: Hunting,
fishing, classical music, guitar, reading, photography, and
research.
Goals: To increase the Gross
Domestic Product of the United States by technology transfer and
recognition of the independent inventor.
